1950's Victor Pool Table

The other day we assembled a 1950's Victor pool table with a ball return.

In these first set of photos, we are assembling the frame.

Now it's time to assemble the ball return. The ball return was a series of 4 flexible metal rods connected by some o-rings. Victor lined the rods with plastic and this was marketed as the first "silent" ball return table.

Watch this video where we tested the ball return. This was extremely important to make sure all the balls traveled smoothly down the return contraption. We tested every pocket several times and at different speeds.

After the ball return was installed and working, we were ready to complete the installation which was fairly straight forward...slate, shims, cloth, rails, and leveling.

We reused the cloth which had glued pockets.

And finally....the finished table. It turned out really nice.
